Information PawPost may process

PawPost may process the following categories of information:

• Public pet listing details, including name, species, breed, age, description, adoption status, rescue organization, listing URL, and approved listing images.
• Content a user submits, such as pet details, photos, corrections, and instructions used to create adoption media.
• Account details, such as name, email address, and organization affiliation, when a user chooses to create an account.
• Basic technical information needed to operate and secure the service, such as browser type, request timestamps, and error logs.
• Product usage information, such as pages visited, which buttons are used, and whether a step succeeded or failed. This is collected with a privacy-focused analytics provider to understand which parts of PawPost help and which need work.

Analytics and cookies

PawPost uses PostHog for product analytics. It records which pages are viewed and which actions are taken, and stores an identifier in your browser (in a cookie and in local storage) so repeat visits can be recognized as the same session.

Analytics captures how the tool is used, not what you put into it. Pet names, photo files, and description text you enter are not sent to the analytics provider. Where a measurement depends on your input, only non-identifying facts are recorded, such as how many photos were selected or how long a description was. Session and screen recording are disabled.

PawPost sets no advertising cookies and does not use analytics data to build advertising profiles. Analytics requests are proxied through the PawPost domain, so browser-level tracker blocking may not prevent them; you can opt out with a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, by blocking cookies for this site, or by contacting us.

How information is used

PawPost uses information to provide and improve its adoption-content tools. This includes pre-filling the content workflow, generating draft scripts and captions, creating downloadable media, attributing pets to their source rescue organizations, linking interested adopters to official listings, preventing abuse, and diagnosing service errors.

PawPost does not sell or broker rescue listing data and does not use that data to build unrelated advertising profiles.

Pet listing data and API access

When PawPost accesses data supplied by a rescue listing provider, it uses that data only to help users create adoption-focused content for currently listed animals. PawPost respects the provider's terms, attribution requirements, rate limits, and removal processes.

The source rescue organization remains authoritative for an animal's availability, adoption requirements, fees, and contact information. PawPost is not an adoption marketplace and does not process adoption applications.

Generated content and human review

Automated output may contain mistakes. PawPost presents generated scripts, captions, and media as drafts for human review. Users are responsible for checking factual details and obtaining appropriate rights or permission before publishing uploaded images or generated content.

Service providers and disclosure

PawPost may use infrastructure, authentication, storage, and AI service providers to operate the application. Information is shared with these providers only as needed to deliver or secure the service. PawPost may also disclose information when required by law, to investigate abuse, or to protect the rights and safety of users, rescue organizations, animals, or the public.

Retention and security

PawPost retains information only for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Corrections, deletion, and removal requests

Users and source rescue organizations may request correction or removal of PawPost-hosted content associated with them or their listings. Verified requests will be investigated and handled where appropriate. A request should identify the relevant listing or content URL and explain the requested change.

Children's privacy

PawPost is intended for shelter staff, volunteers, rescuers, and other adults. The service is not directed to children under 13, and PawPost does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

This policy may be updated as PawPost develops. Material changes will be reflected on this page by changing the Last updated date.
